We are now officially migrated over to our new email newsletter server. This one is much more flexible and powerful. It is completely free of advertisements, and it will also allow us to send an unlimited number of fully customizable HTML messages. Well, the forums are back, sort of. We have absolutely no history whatsoever that survived the crash and I've deleted the old boards entirely. That might not have been the decision that everyone wanted, but it's the one I made in the best interest of the community as a whole. Aside from that, we will now make a fresh start with the new forums. If you wish to join us again, head on over to the new forums and register!

It's very likely that if I can't figure out how to restore the forums from the backup that I have that they will simply be deleted permanently. I just don't have the time right now to go through all of the work needed to recreate the entire forums all over again. I'll let you all know what decision I make in the morning (if not sooner).

Once again, the server that hosts our forums is down for whatever reason. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it is out of our control. All we can suggest is that you try navigating to the forums periodically to check on their status. The only type of technical support I get from these folks is "Check the server status page and see if it's online or not". (We're on server 28) Maybe it's time to find a new forum host...but the thought of all those lost posts gives me a headache. Aargh!

The "Visitors today" portion of the Info Center isn't quite functioning like I had hoped. The host of the counter is a French company, and apparently the daily hit value resets itself based on Paris time. There isn't any way to adjust this based on time zone, so I'm not sure if I'll leave it in place or delete it. If anyone knows of a better solution, please do email me and let me know.

As a result of viewer feedback, I've begun addiing some code to the website that will allow the user to increase or decrease the font size at which they view the site. You will notice a "plus" and "minus" image at the top of the page. Clicking on each will either increase or reduce the font size accordingly.
This change is currently live on all areas of the website except for the Articles section and the Article Archives. These remaining changes will be completed within the week.

I made a few cosmetic changes throughout the site, nothing major. Also, now that we have three original columns featured every month the frequency of reprinted articles will be greatly diminished. For reasons I have yet to determine, our calendar pages are not functioning. I think they are using localized cookies which don't appear to show the events on all users computers. In unrelated news, A federal judge Thursday struck down Nebraska's ban on gay marriage, saying the measure interferes not only with the rights of gay couples but also with those of foster parents, adopted children and people in a host of other living arrangements. I moved the site search engine and site map that used to be found at the top of the Links page. Now you just click the " Site Search " link on the right hand side of the main page. Unlike the other navigation options throughout this Community, the " Site Search " option is only available from the main page. The Site Search box will open in a new, smaller, popup window. Not sure if we will make our May 1 deadline, as my work schedule took a huge turn for the worse this week. I'll keep you posted.

As I'm sure you've noticed, I changed the site again. These changes will make it so that you no longer need to maximize your browser to view it properly. Also, we now have only one index page and style sheet as opposed to the two we had before. As far as I can tell everything should look fine regardless of browser or screen resolution, but if you find a problem please let me know. Those of you who are members of the Pagan faith should find this bit of "justice" a bit unnerving. Apparently, a judge in Indianapolis has decreed that a man and his ex-wife cannot expose their child to "non-mainstream religious beliefs and rituals". You can read this article in it's entirety here.

Okay, we have switched to a Bravenet calendar system. This calendar will allow you to look at three different views: Month, Week, or Day. I have re-entered the previously entered events for the months of June and September of this year. Check out the Events / Gatherings Section for complete information.

For reasons I have yet to determine, our calendar pages are not functioning. I think they are using localized cookies which don't appear to show the events on all users computers. Until I resolve this, the calendar pages will be temporarily disabled. I apologize for the inconvenience and will resolve this as soon as possible.

Welcome to Sarafina, the first official member of the user forums! Now that she has taken the step and joined, let's see if we can get some others to join too and get the Forums in use.
In unrelated news, A federal judge Thursday struck down Nebraska's ban on gay marriage, saying the measure interferes not only with the rights of gay couples but also with those of foster parents, adopted children and people in a host of other living arrangements. Lastly, it appears that some folks are having trouble seeing the items listed on the calendar. If you are one of them, please drop us an email and let us know what browser your using so we can hopefully solve this.

I realize that nobody wants to be the first to join the Forums (well other than Kriek and myself, we already joined), but if we could get people to join then we could start having discussions. I'd like to get the Forums set up so that we could discuss issues there instead of having to read through so many daily digests like alot of groups have. So, who will make the first move and join up?

Kira Lessin, founder of World Polyamory Association & School of Tantra has graciously agreed to allow us to reprint articles that she has written or hosted. Many thanks Kira! The first article is up in the Articles Section, entitled Polyamory Blossoms. Also, under the Letters Section you can read some of her thoughts regarding the Emotional & Practical Issues surrounding any Poly Family Unit.

I decided to change the layout a little bit, so that News & Updates can be seen from the main page of the Community. The old News & Updates section will be replaced by an all new Letters section. This is where we will post any letters or commentary we receive from visitors. Bare with us while we complete these changes.

Made a few additions to the Links Section. We're also in the process of talking to a few potential contributing writers from the Poly Community. We hope to have some more content for you shortly so make sure you check back frequently for updates.

The big push is finally over and we're live! Now we would like some interested writers to contribute some content to our site. If you're interested in having your writing published please check out the Contribute Writing section for more information. We'll also begin using our Live Journal within the next few days. Obviously the May 1 deadline didn't happen. I finished the Emotional Issues section tonight and hope to have the rest of the site done and ready for launch tomorrow. If that happens I'll begin making our presence known publicly within a week.
April 28, 2005 - Update
I moved the site search engine and site map that used to be found at the top of the Links page. Now you just click the " Site Search " link on the right hand side of the main page. Unlike the other navigation options throughout this Community, the " Site Search " option is only available from the main page. The Site Search box will open in a new, smaller, popup window. Not sure if we will make our May 1 deadline, as my work schedule took a huge turn for the worse this week. I'll keep you posted.

Added a site search engine and site map. (This can be found at the top of the Links page). Now I need to get into high gear as we still plan on being live by May 1st.
