I'm very unhappy to announce this, but until further notice
Growing Up Poly is suspended. I'm not entirely sure when or even if it will resume anytime in the near future. I'll keep you informed as I receive additional information.
Polyamory Weekly #38 is live this morning, and Polyamorous Percolations is the sponsor! Make sure you listen in to hear our audio spot I recorded. Also coming up on this week's show: minx is feeling better; compersion; bisexuals; moving to Canada; the benefits of being secondary. You can view and listen to the entire
Polyamory Weekly archives
here.
We're having a particularly interesting discussion in our forums as of late regarding the difficulties in transitioning from monogamy to polyamory. You can read the entire thread
here.
We've got a new article for you tonight. I decided to reprint this particular piece for all the new folks who have joined our forums as of late. Several of them have been asking for advice in the area of talking to their monogamous partners regarding their polyamorous feelings. Check out Franklin Veaux's thoughts on this subject by reading the article in its entirety right
here.
We've got a new article for you this morning. This is a nicely written piece from the
San Francisco Chronicle that talks about committment in polyamorous relationships. It's live under the Feature Articles section right now, so why not read
Committed to marriage... right now?!
Three's Company is all new for you tonight. This is a week earlier than normal, but Chel is going to be releasing her column late this month, so I figured that I'd release mine early. Check out my feelings on a potentially difficult task to master....it's live under the Monthly Columns section, or you can find it right
here.
We are
always looking for new column writers interested in having their insights and opinions regarding the polyamorous lifestyle published. We strive to deliver fresh, insightful, and educational content to the folks who visit this community. Are
you interested in writing a column for us? This column would be completely yours, all subjects and topics would be left to your discretion,
and you'd get your very own byline! Why not check out the
Contribute Writing section for more information?!
We are now officially migrated over to our new email newsletter server. This one is much more flexible and powerful. It is completely free of advertisements, and it will also allow us to send an unlimited number of fully customizable HTML messages. Existing subscribers have been migrated over, there's no need to re-register. I hope you all enjoy this.
So, I get up this morning, and the server that I'm trying to migrate the mailing list to is down. Until further notice we're back to the Bravenet one I was using before. I hate doing the two step sometimes.
I'm in the process of transferring our Bravenet.com mailing list over to a much more powerful and flexible host. If you're an existing member, you will receive an email from YourMailingListProvider with a subject of email address verification. Simply follow the instructions in this email to verify your address to be added to the new list. Please, do not unsubscribe from the old list until we let you know that we've completely switched. Thanks.
IMPORTANT: Disregard the above message. If you'd like to subscribe to the new email list, follow the new subscription link on the right hand side of this page to be added to the new list. I apologize for the confusion.
Our calendar is now open to everyone for posting events. Feel free to post any upcoming poly events whenever you like. The
calendar can be posted on by guest as well as registered members alike. Why did I allow guests to post here? I feel that this is a service that should be allowed to anyone wishing to communicate upcoming events.
We have a new Feature Article for you today. In this one Kathy Labriola, Counselor/Nurse, talks a little about exploring ethical non-monogamy. You can read the entire article right
here.
Polyamory Weekly #37 has finally appeared. Apparently minx is even sicker than just the flu (or she was). She's been in the hospital, but she's on the mend and should be back next week. Graydancer and Genevieve fill in for her this week. Our ad spot isn't part of the show, but they do mention our address change. I'll let you know when I find out which show it will be in.
Many thanks to our very own alan for allowing us to post a link to his poly imPRESSions blog page at polyandproud.com! You can find this new resource under the Extras section above, or by going
here. Thanks again alan for providing us this valuable resource!
We have a fresh new article for you this morning! Check out this piece from the Guardian Unlimited which talks about.....well, find out for yourself, it's right
here!
As you can see, I've done some rearranging. This was done as a result of member feedback and will hopefully make navigation a bit easier. The information that used to be in this spot can now be found by following the
About Us link in the Extras section.
Well, the forums are back, sort of. We have absolutely no history whatsoever that survived the crash and I've deleted the old boards entirely. That might not have been the decision that everyone wanted, but it's the one I made in the best interest of the community as a whole. Aside from that, we will now make a fresh start with the new forums. If you wish to join us again, head on over to the new
forums and register!
It's very likely that if I can't figure out how to restore the forums from the backup that I have that they will simply be deleted permanently. I just don't have the time right now to go through all of the work needed to recreate the entire forums all over again. I'll let you all know what decision I make in the morning (if not sooner).
As I'm sure you have noticed, there's something wrong with the forums. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, and right now I have no time to fix it as I have to leave for work. I'll be back after 8:00 tonight. I'm frustrated with these forums and not sure what I'm going to do at this point.
I just got confirmation that cunning minx, host of
Polyamory Weekly, is in fact down with a pretty bad case of the flu. This is the reason that her show isn't appearing this week. I'm not sure, but I would assume that our advertising spot will appear in next weeks episode, so don't miss it!
The long awaited interview with Michael Dean Goodman is live right now! Many thanks both to our very own PolyAnna as well as Michael for making this interview a reality! Check out
Interview with a Poly under Monthly Columns if you're interested in reading this interview.
I'm very happy to announce that we have an all new Monthly Column for you starting today! Pegasus and Renaissance Man have both agreed to co-author our newest column -
Looking for Poly. Read all about their journey from monogamy to polyamory as they share their experiences with us! It's live under the Monthly Column section right now!
Our new user forums are online as of right now! We'll be maintaining both our new forum and our old one for a while until we're sure all of the bugs are worked out. For complete details regarding this transition, go
here. To access the new forums follow the New Forums link above, to access the old forums follow the Old Forums link above. As always, we welcome any feedback from our visitors.
A big welcome to the newest member of our community, innocentprncss. I hope that you find our little home away from home warm and welcoming! I look forward to hearing your input in our forums.
Polyamory Weekly seems to be late in appearing this episode. I do know that minx has a pretty bad case of the flu, so this is understandable. As soon as I'm aware that it's live I'll let you all know.
PolyAnna's Percolations is all new tonight! Read all about her personal experiences with being stuck in the middle of her triad. It's live under the Monthly Articles section right now!
Don't forget to tune into Polyamory Weekly #37 on Tuesday, December 6th, as Polyamorous Percolations sponsors our second edition. This sponsorship, along with our all new website address, was made possible through generous donations from members of our community.

I'd like to welcome the newest member to our community, kliensendelbach!! I hope you find this little community as beneficial as we do!
As you may have noticed, we have an all new address as of today! We're now located on our own dedicated server, with an all new address. If you currently link to us, or know someone who does, pass along our new home at http://www.polyamoryonline.org/!
I'd like to thank Alan for yet another generous donation to our community! This will be used for making many improvements to our community. Among these are upgraded forums and, in the very near future, the purchase of our own unique website address. Thanks again Alan!
We're planning an event to celebrate our one year anniversary, and you're invited! Check out the
Stew & Brew 2006 section above for more information.
It's a new month, and with the new month comes a new section for you! We're happy to announce the all new
Poly Parenting section of our community. This section will be a work in progress. Our very own Momma Chel, author of our original column

From Our Forums. This will feature a currently active thread from our forums. I invite you all to read these threads and jump right into the conversation! This is live under the Thoughts section right now!
I would like to welcome oneoffdave, the newest member to our little community! I actually invited dave to join us here after reading an email he wrote regarding being raised in a polyamorous family. As you can see, he accepted my invitation, thanks so much for becoming part of our little family dave!
Thanks to PolyAnna, I found out that we had inadvertently published a bit of misinformation. The piece entitled
It Doesn't Interest Me, published under the Letters section, is actually entitled
The Invitation, and is the original work of Oriah Mountain Dreamer, an Indian Elder. I apologize for this unintentional oversight, which has been rectified.
We have a fresh edition of
Three's Company for you as of right now! This month I share some of my insights on how the line between polyamory and swinging can become blurred. Check it out, it's live in the Monthly Articles section even as you're reading this!
I'm happy to announce that we've released a lot of new products in our
online store today! Why not do some Yule shopping for that special someone while supporting our community at the same time? All proceeds from our online store will benefit this community.
A blessed
Mabon to you all. May this Thanksgiving Day harvest provide you with all that you have desired as the equinox comes to fruition.

Polyamory Weekly website.
I may not be able to control the online or offline status of our forums, but I can keep you informed in a real time manner. From now on when you load this main page, you will see either the word online (in green) or the word offline (in red) next to the forums link. Youl'll need to refresh the page to change this status image, but hopefully this will make things a little more convenient.
The user forums are back online, thanks for your patience.
Once again, the server that hosts our forums is down for whatever reason. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it is out of our control. All we can suggest is that you try navigating to the forums periodically to check on their status. The only type of technical support I get from these folks is "Check the
server status page and see if it's online or not". (We're on server 28) Maybe it's time to find a new forum host...but the thought of all those lost posts gives me a headache. Aargh!
We have a new Feature Article for you this morning! This piece, from
Planet Waves, talks all about compersion. Check it out, it's live right now in the
Feature Articles section!
Growing Up Poly is all new this morning! This month Momma Chel talks about how she manages to de-stress her life through her children. Check it out under the Monthly Columns section right now!

Any tips received will be used to offset the cost of running this community. Or, if you would like to sponsor us, your banner or advertisement could appear at the top of this page!

I have a fantastic surprise for you all! Despite the fact that she is
still recovering from what Hurricane Wilma did to her and her family, PolyAnna came through with a brand new edition of her Percolations! This was totally unexpected, but it's yet another fantastic piece of writing! Check it out, it's live under Monthly Columns right now!

and you'd get your very own byline! Why not check out the

We have a new article for you this morning! This particular piece deals with Managing Expectations. It was originally published as part of the
Quasi-Monogamy, building identity and better relationships project and is available for reprint here under a creative commons license.
I'd also like to welcome the newest member of our forums, gloriajn! I hope you find yourself at home here, and find whatever it is you seek.
The "Visitors today" portion of the Info Center isn't quite functioning like I had hoped. The host of the counter is a French company, and apparently the daily hit value resets itself based on Paris time. There isn't any way to adjust this based on time zone, so I'm not sure if I'll leave it in place or delete it. If anyone knows of a better solution, please do
email me and let me know.
I added an Info Center in the bottom right corner of the main page. This Info Center will tell you the daily visitor count, the current visitor count, and the cumulative visitor count for our community.
Also, our ad spot was aired during Polyamory Weekly #32 last night, and I thought it went well. Listen for yourself and let me know what you think!
Polyamory Weekly #32 is live now! Coming up on this week's show: poly living, poly dating, those crazy Mormons, poly conferences, poly in the media, a poly sponsor and communication wisdom.

Happy Halloween to all who observe it, or a Blessed
Samhein to all my fellow Pagans! I hope that you all stay safe and receive whatever tricks or treats you are in search of on this day.
As you can see, I've added a banner at the top of the page. This is to hopefully help folks affected by the ravages of Hurricane Wilma. Our very own PolyAnna is living in the middle of this latest evidence of Mother Nature's wrath. You can read all about her situation in our user
forums.

I'm happy to welcome the three newest members to our forums....Sophia, Puck, and Janus! They are all members of the same Equilateral Triad, and I can't wait to hear the life experiences they have to share with us. Welcome to you all, I hope you find this community enjoyable!
I've completed the site-wide change that will allow folks visiting our community to increase or decrease the font size as needed for optimum viewing.
As always, if you notice any problems as a result of these changes please do let me know.
As a result of viewer feedback, I've begun addiing some code to the website that will allow the user to increase or decrease the font size at which they view the site. You will notice a "plus" and "minus" image at the top of the page. Clicking on each will either increase or reduce the font size accordingly.
This change is currently live on all areas of the website except for the Articles section and the Article Archives. These remaining changes will be completed within the week.
We have a new article for you today. This is a piece from the Electronic Journal of Human Sexuality, and it discusses what polyamory is vs. what it isn't. It's live in the Feature Articles section right now!

We have a new article for you today. Come check out Hank Pine's story about his journey from monogamy to polyamory in
No Secrets, No Lies. It's in the Feature Articles section right
now!
We are very happy to announce a new addition to the Polyamorous Percolations community -
Interview With A Poly! This will be just as it sounds; interviews with folks living a poly lifestyle. Our premier edition will be with someone who is gaining prominence in the lifestyle. Who is it? Check back often, as this new section will be here within the next week!
PolyAnna's Percolations is all new today! Check out her thoughts on the ability to read the minds of your spice - or
not be able to, as the case most often is.
As I'm sure you've noticed, I changed the site again. These changes will make it so that you no longer need to maximize your browser to view it properly. Also, we now have only one index page and style sheet as opposed to the two we had before. As far as I can tell everything should look fine regardless of browser or screen resolution, but if you find a problem please
let me know. Also, if you see anything that looks like the old site, refresh your browser or delete cookies. Thanks and enjoy!
We have a new article for you this morning. Come read some of
Black Eagle's thoughts on

Status Page will let you know if our server is online, offline, or busy. We are on Server 28. I apologize for this problem, but it is beyond my control.
I've expanded the Articles section to now include a link to some of the archived articles from the main page. The all new Article Archives are now open for business.
Thanks to

Three's Company is all new today! This may be one of my most controversial colums to date, but I'm not interested in that. I wrote this particular piece because I felt it needed to be said. Check it out in the Articles section and see what
you think!
I made a few cosmetic changes throughout the site, nothing major. Also, now that we have three original columns featured every month the frequency of reprinted articles will be greatly diminished. I'd love to have someone contribute another original column, thereby giving us one per week. If you're interested feel free to check out the
Contribute Writing section for more info!
As promised we have an all new, original column starting today! Check out our very own Momma Chel's column surrounding children growing up in a poly lifestyle!

not lose yourself while accommodating all of your other partners.
In addition to the
Poly for Kids section we're currently working on, I'm thinking about adding a section featuring interviews with folks in the poly community. Would this work? Would folks be willing to participate? Would you read it? Your
feedback is needed!
I changed the color scheme to accomodate older monitors that were viewing the site much darker than was intended. Feedback is always

over now and see what you might have missed.
Apparently our server "burped" and my latest version of Three's Company was erased. I'll try to replace it tomorrow. While you're waiting, We are happy to announce that we have a fresh new column for you! Our very own PolyAnna will be sharing some of her life experiences with us. You can read her first column

A Bouquet of Lovers. We have also updated the
Ready or Not? Section. These updates can be found at the top of the page for easy browsing.
May 27, 2005 - News Those of you who are members of the Pagan faith should find this bit of "justice" a bit unnerving. Apparently, a judge in Indianapolis has decreed that a man and his ex-wife cannot expose their child to "non-mainstream religious beliefs and rituals". You can read this article in it's entirety
here.

May 24, 2005 - Update I ran into some technical difficulties with the changes I was making, so I've put them on hold for now. If you are seeing things look odd, clear out your cookies and temporary internet files. I apologize for any problems this may cause, and we will have a new article tomorrow as promised.
May 23, 2005 - News I'm in the process of making some behind the scenes changes to the Community. These are mostly related to the coding and should be virtually seamless and transparent to visitors. I expect this to be completed by tomorrow and then the article and column updates will get back on track.

May 15, 2005 - Update Okay, we have switched to a Bravenet calendar system. This calendar will allow you to look at three different views: Month, Week, or Day. I have re-entered the previously entered events for the months of June and September of this year. Check out the
Events / Gatherings Section for complete information.
May 15, 2005 - News For reasons I have yet to determine, our calendar pages are not functioning. I think they are using localized cookies which don't appear to show the events on all users computers. Until I resolve this, the calendar pages will be temporarily disabled. I apologize for the inconvenience and will resolve this as soon as possible.
May 14, 2005 - News Welcome to Sarafina, the first official member of the user forums! Now that she has taken the step and joined, let's see if we can get some others to join too and get the Forums in use.
In unrelated news, A federal judge Thursday struck down Nebraska's ban on gay marriage, saying the measure interferes not only with the rights of gay couples but also with those of foster parents, adopted children and people in a host of other living arrangements. You can view the entire article
Here.
Lastly, it appears that some folks are having trouble seeing the items listed on the calendar. If you are one of them, please drop us an email and let us know what browser your using so we can hopefully solve this.
May 12, 2005 - Update Many thanks to
Sara for the warm words she sent us in an email today. She is the first visitor to send us feedback and we greatly appreciate it! You can read her comments in the Letters Section. Thanks again Sara!
May 12, 2005 - News I realize that nobody wants to be the first to join the Forums (well other than Kriek and myself, we already joined), but if we could get people to join then we could start having discussions. I'd like to get the Forums set up so that we could discuss issues there instead of having to read through so many daily digests like alot of groups have. So, who will make the first move and join up?
May 10, 2005 - News There are now some Conferences posted for the Months of June & September 2005. Check them out in the Events / Gatherings Section. Just follow the Calendar link to get there. Click on the Event title to be taken to the information page.

May 9, 2005 - Update I decided to change the layout a little bit, so that News & Updates can be seen from the main page of the Community. The old News & Updates section will be replaced by an all new
Letters section. This is where we will post any letters or commentary we receive from visitors. Bare with us while we complete these changes.
May 7, 2005 - Update Made a few additions to the

Contribute Writing section for more information. We'll also begin using our Live Journal within the next few days. I hope you enjoy being a part of Polyamorous Percolations.
May 4, 2005 - Update Obviously the May 1 deadline didn't happen. I finished the Emotional Issues section tonight and hope to have the rest of the site done and ready for launch tomorrow. If that happens I'll begin making our presence known publicly within a week.
April 28, 2005 - Update I moved the site search engine and site map that used to be found at the top of the Links page. Now you just click the " Site Search " link on the right hand side of the main page. Unlike the other navigation options throughout this Community, the " Site Search " option is only available from the main page. The Site Search box will open in a new, smaller, popup window. Not sure if we will make our May 1 deadline, as my work schedule took a huge turn for the worse this week. I'll keep you posted.
April 23, 2005 - Update Added a site search engine and site map. (This can be found at the top of the Links page). Now I need to get into high gear as we still plan on being live by May 1st.

April 14, 2005 - Update Site development comes along nicely. We hope to be live by May 1, 2005.
